Make a wish and it will come true

Timeline - 1995

Kids For Peace a mosaic mural of over 400 painted panels was born out of exploratory inter-active mixed-media art workshops spanning from Los Angeles to the Negev in Israel.  The workshops in Israel were conducted in collaboration with Richard Israelowitz, the Director of the Social Work Dept of the Ben Gurion University and Jonathan Friedlander, Assistant  Director of outreach for the UCLA Center of Near Eastern Studies.

Pictured here is the piece of art that triggered the concept for Kids For Peace. It was created by a child in a Bedoiun Village in the Negev during a workshop that explored the theme of immigration, transition and home.

Gayle brings to this project her experience in coordinating and directing numerous large scale community based art activities including murals for the Los Angeles METRO.
